Ask some women about their no-makeup makeup, and you’ll get a list of products that give the appearance of a natural look. Ask Pamela Anderson and you get: “I don’t do the ‘no makeup makeup’. I do the ‘no makeup’.”
Bare-faced (and barefoot) as she sat down with PEOPLE for this week’s cover storythe 58 year old actress says, “I think people are starting to look alike these days. But that has a lot to do with AI and social media and filters. I just never want to get caught up in that trap. I would want to jump off the crazy train, and just … Well, I don’t know if I’ve jumped off the crazy train. I still have fun, but I don’t want to look like anybody else. I want to look like me.”

“I wear Sonsie, my skincare,” saysThe Last Showgirlstar.“I have this new Adapt cream. That’s my miracle new cream. And then I have a couple different lip balms. One has shimmer and one has a little less.” (The shimmer gloss was inspired by the rhubarb she grows at her Vancouver Island farmhouse.)
“I just think it’s really important to think about the environment and the planet, and that’s the best beauty secret – having some compassion,” she notes.
Still, she keeps it playful. “I will probably do a little bit of makeup for my next role, but we’ll experiment with that, because I find it’s hard to find a middle ground,” she adds. “Like, a big makeup look, theatrical, blue eyeshadow and sparkles and glitter, or nothing. In the middle, I feel like it’s just like, ‘Huh?”
It’s been an evolution she says, noting, “I try and forgive myself too for worrying so much as a younger person, or following trends. I want to be a trend-setter. I wouldn’t want to be a trend follower.”

The same could be said for Anderson’s evolving hair looks of 2025 and her copper red shag, a new look for the movie she’s now filming,Love Is Not The Answerdirected by Michael Cera. “I’m in transition,” she says. “So, I look a little kooky. I’ve changed my hair color, because this is the character that I’m creating.”
Now a brand ambassador for Biologyshe adds, “I have to be blonde in January for another role, and then I have to be platinum for another role coming up.”
Normally, she dyes her own hair with drugstore color, but this time, she had it done professionally while she was traveling. “I’ve been able to experiment and really peeling back the layers,” she says of her natural look. “I didn’t realize that people were going to resonate with it, which has been really nice, and it really suits my brand Sonsie too, which is being true to yourself.”

And she means it: When asked for a “piece of wisdom” in a room full of influencers at a recent Sonsie pop event in New York City, Anderson suggested, “Try and think your own original thoughts.”
