For the uninitiated, biltong is similar to jerky – but softer and moister. It’s a traditional South African air-dried, cured meat snack, often made with seasonings like vinegar, salt, pepper and spices.

‘This beef biltong is 50 grams of protein for the entire pack,’ he explained.
