Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson looked cozy while sitting together at the 23rd annual Mark Twain Prize For American Humor in DC on Sunday night. While attending the star-studded ceremony, which honors artists that have unquestionably shaped the world of comedy, the reality star, 41, dazzled in a black sequined gown and her hair slicked back in a low ponytail.
She could be seen leaning close to the King of Staten Island actor, 28, as they chatted during the event, held at The Kennedy Center. The pair also applauded for comedian Jon Stewart as he received the Mark Twain Prize for lifetime achievement in humor.
Upon learning he would receive the award, the 59-year-old former host of The Daily Show (pictured) posted on Instagram that he was ‘truly honored.’ The national prize is named after novelist and essayist Samuel Langhorne Clemens, known by his pen name Mark Twain and revered for his novels featuring Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
In 2021, six years after he quit his satirical news series The Daily Show, Stewart returned to television with a new venture looking at current affairs in depth, The Problem With Jon Stewart, which launched on the Apple TV+ streaming platform in late September.
Richard Pryor was the first recipient of the prize, while the controversial comedian Dave Chappelle (pictured) was the most recent person to receive it in 2019. Chappelle has since come under fire for long segments of his recent standup comedy specials, which many fans believed to be transphobic.
The award’s 2009 recipient, Bill Cosby, had his honor rescinded in 2018 after he was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault. The legendary comedian had his conviction vacated in June 2021 by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Kardashian and Davidson’s outing marks yet another public event they’ve attended together, just two weeks after arriving to the premiere of her family’s new Hulu series The Kardashians holding hands (pictured).
Pete and Kim began dating in late October after getting to know one another during the KUWTK star’s first-ever Saturday Night Live hosting gig that same month. Kim has since confirmed her romance with the SNL funnyman and even made things ‘Instagram official’ with a loved-up post shared with her 298million followers last month.
She’s also introduced Pete to the four children she shares with ex-husband Kanye West.
