Siner Defeats Alcaraz And Retains The ATP Finals Title

Sinner, ranked second in the world, defeated Alcaraz, ranked first, with a score of 7-6, 7-5.

Sinner defended his title on home soil and among his fans, after achieving only his second victory this year over Alcaraz, after he had previously beaten him in the Wimbledon final.

Despite the loss, Alcaraz ended the year at the top of the world rankings, and played his first final in the final tournament, which includes the eight best ranked players during the year.

Alcaraz is still ahead of Sinner in total direct confrontations by achieving ten victories over the Italian player, while suffering six defeats.

Sinner and Alcaraz met in the last three final matches in the Grand Slam tournaments, where the Spaniard defeated the Italian in a five-set match in the final of the French Championship (Roland Garros), while Sinner took revenge at Wembley, and then Alcaraz prevailed again in the final of the American Championship.

They also met again in the final of the Italian Open, in which Alcaraz won, and the Spaniard also succeeded in winning the Cincinnati Masters Tennis Championship title at the expense of Sinner after the latter withdrew due to illness.

For his part, Sinner won the Australian Open title, after defeating German Alexander Zverev in the final, and thus both Sinner and Alcaraz won two major titles this year.
