Glamorous influencer Yulia Burtseva has died aged 38 after undergoing cosmetic surgery in Moscow.

The Italian social media star, who boasted than 74,000 followers on Instagram, underwent plastic surgery at a private clinic on January 4, according to Russian news outlet MSK1.

It stated that she was promptly rushed to the hospital after her condition deteriorated, where she was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have opened a criminal case to investigate potential negligence charges, the outlet shared.

‘Investigators from the Moscow Investigative Committee are working at the scene,’ read a translated statement by the Moscow Investigative Committee obtained by MSK1.

‘Necessary official and medical records will be seized shortly,’ the statement continued.

‘A number of forensic examinations, including a medical one, are being ordered.’

Burtseva had built up a legion of fans by sharing snippets of her family life online – detailing her relationship with husband Giuseppe and her young daughter.

Her last upload to Instagram was on December 5, featuring her young daughter.

The post has since been flooded with comments by followers who rushed to share their condolences after learning of the tragic news.

‘How unpredictable life is,’ one user wrote in a comment translated into English on the post.

‘God her daughter is now without her mommy, how beautiful she was, my condolences to her family and friends,’ wrote another.

‘Poor thing! That’s a pity! I am in shock! My condolences to her family,’ said another fan.

‘Tragic reminder that no procedure is ever truly routine,’ said someone else.

Another follower wrote: ‘Charming girl. How come..,’ with some broken heart emojis.

Another devastated fan said: ‘That’s a pity… I’ve been subscribed for years… I enjoyed watching her stories.’

According to MSK1, she also shared a video to VK, a Russian social media platform, on the morning of her surgery, where she had written: ‘Good morning Moscow.’

On December 1, Burtseva opened up about undergoing a procedure in Samara, Russia, in a video shared to Instagram.

She explained that two years ago, she got veneers for all of her teeth in the Russian city, as doctors in Naples, where she lives, did not have much experience.

She gushed about her experience, saying she now has a ‘Hollywood smile.’
