The Barcelona star was recently in the Emirates due to his attendance at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, and he stayed there for a few days for a short vacation, during which he visited the Sheikh Zayed Mosque wearing robes and Arab dress.

Jamal said about this experience in statements reported by the Catalan newspaper “Sport”: “I enjoyed it very much. It was a quiet moment on the trip with my family and friends.”

He added: “Going to the mosque makes you feel peace. Whatever your religion, just being there makes you feel reassured.”

The Spanish international, who is of Moroccan origins, concluded: “Being a Muslim has given me a great feeling of comfort. The spiritual atmosphere in the mosque has an effect on the soul and gives you peace.”
