HGTV Viewers Make Desperate Plea Over New Season Of Ugliest House In America
HGTV fans have the same complaint after tuning into watching the brand new season of Ugliest House in America.
The show, hosted by actress, comedian and home design enthusiast Retta, returned with its series seven premiere on January 7.
While viewers are delighted to have the program back with the ‘hilarious’ 55-year-old host at the front and center, they are demanding that episodes have a longer runtime.
As it stands, the first five episodes are only 20 minutes long with the final set to span 60 minutes – and fans are begging producers for multiple hour-long episodes instead.
Taking their request to Redditone posted: ‘Why oh why is this not a one-hour show?
‘I want to see of these houses, and I really want to see Retta expressions and listen to her comments!’
They added: ‘Retta is the Queen and deserves screen time.’
Many users aligned with the original poster with another writing: ‘Yes, agree. It should be longer. Always Retta!’

The popular HGTV show returned on January 7 with two new episodes
‘You’ll get the one-hour show with the unseen footage the night of the finale, but yeah they should just make them all one hour episodes,’ a third added.
A fourth continued: ’20 minutes is just not enough! HGTV please make these episodes longer!’
Ugliest House in America airs on Wednesdays and this series is made up of six episodes.
The current season will see Retta’s hilarious hot takes as she goes inside 15 properties with shockingly bad designs, cringe-worthy layouts and grossly outdated styles.
Based on its ugly appearance, awkward factor and most surprising feature, one house will be crowned the ‘ugliest house in America’ by HGTV and receive a $150,000 renovation completed by Sin City Rehab designer Alison Victoria.
Ugliest House in America series seven opened with Retta touring three homes in the Great Plains region.
In the show’s second episode, she visited three homes in the Midwest, including a bizarre castle-like home and a Victorian house with glitter gone wild.
The new series marks a huge milestone too as Retta is set to visit her 100th ugly house, although she doesn’t know which property will receive the accolade due to shooting the episodes out of order.

As it stands, the episodes have a run time of just 20 minutes

‘Everyone asks did I think there would be this many ugly houses. Yes, I did,’ she told TV Insider.
‘I just didn’t think people would be interested in this long to actually get to the 100th one.’
She added: ‘We don’t know what is going to be the 100th. So, basically every time I’d go to a house, I had to do a spiel about the 100th house.
‘When they pick which house it’s going to be, they can throw all that other footage out the door because we didn’t know.’
Retta also turned her attention to the future of the show and suggested an idea for a future spin-off.
‘I just hope to spend time in the coziest house and spend time in those homes because these houses really put me through it,’ she added to the publication.
‘There is no competition. I just want to sit in people’s beautiful comfortable homes.’
