A Visionary Hospitality Project Set to Elevate Eswatini’s Tourism and Business Landscape

Palazzo Hospitality, the management company behind some of the world’s most prestigious luxury hotels, including Palazzo Versace Dubai, is making a bold entrance into Africa’s hospitality sector. The company has officially signed an agreement to manage and operate the Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center, Eswatini’s most ambitious hospitality project to date. With construction nearing 80% completion, the highly anticipated launch is scheduled for the final quarter of 2025.

“Eswatini is the Kingdom of so many untold stories, and we are ready to tell them to the world through this unique hospitality project,” said Monther Darwish, Founder and Chairman of Palazzo Hospitality. “Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center will put the country on the global tourism map and drive the economic growth we all expect.”

A Game-Changer for Eswatini’s Tourism Industry

Spanning 190 hectares, the Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center is designed to redefine Eswatini’s hospitality and business landscape. The 42,000 sqm convention center will feature:

  • A 1,800-seat theatre with a two-level design (ground and balcony)
  • A state-of-the-art chamber hall for international conferences, including AU-level summits
  • A multipurpose ballroom accommodating 1,500 banquet guests or 3,000 classroom-style attendees
  • A 340-seat restaurant and world-class catering facilities

The convention center will be seamlessly connected to the seven-story luxury hotel via a skywalk link, featuring exclusive retail and dining experiences.

A New Standard in African Luxury Hospitality

The Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel will be one of the most distinguished properties in Southern Africa, covering 51,000 sqm with 299 ultra-luxurious rooms designed for both leisure and business travelers. The hotel will offer:

  • 263 Standard Rooms (54 sqm each)
  • 20 Junior Suites (110 sqm each)
  • 5 Executive Suites (200 sqm each)
  • 6 Presidential Suites (300 sqm each)
  • 5 Royal Suites (1,000 sqm each)

Beyond lavish accommodations, the hotel will boast sophisticated dining venues, world-class wellness facilities, and unparalleled service, setting new benchmarks for African hospitality.

Strategic Partnership for Economic Growth

The Kingdom of Eswatini is fully invested in this visionary project. The Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs of Eswatini, Honourable Jane Mkhonta-Simelane, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating:

“Eswatini is pleased to have partnered with Palazzo Hospitality and looks forward to a successful relationship that will position the Kingdom as a beacon of hope, prosperity, and a tourism center for the continent and beyond.”

Meanwhile, Baraa Khawash, Co-Founder and Vice-Chairwoman of Palazzo Hospitality, added:

“We are honored to be entrusted with this major task – to develop, manage, and operate what is set to be Africa’s leading hospitality project. Our expertise, talent, and culture as a luxury hospitality group will ensure that Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center stands out on the global stage.”

A Milestone in Eswatini’s Global Tourism Vision

The grand opening of Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center in late 2025 marks a transformative moment for Eswatini, reinforcing its status as a premier destination for international tourism, high-profile events, and business summits.

This project aligns with Eswatini’s broader vision to elevate its global presence, attract foreign investment, and establish itself as a top-tier destination for luxury travel and international business conferences.
