And the best part? It’s only $229 – cheaper than my 10-class pass at a boutique Pilates studio down the road, which cost me $395.

Not only will I save hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars every year, but it also gives me flexibility – I can choose whenever I want to exercise in my living room – whether it’s after work on weeknights or right after rolling out of bed on weekends.

So how does it compare to the expensive Pilates reformer machines? I was genuinely impressed – it performed better than I expected. For the price and quality, it truly exceeded my expectations.

It was quite easy to assemble and took less than an hour to set up the reformer machine and the Pilates box, which my partner helped me with.

The machine is beautiful, and it looks very high-end. I’m obsessed with the new tan and white colourway and it blends in nicely with my living room.

Once it was ready to use, I was blown away by how sturdy and smooth it felt – the padded surface is super comfy and the adjustable handrails and cable positions mean it can accommodate any height.

The rubber springs are surprisingly strong and I’ve been able to do workouts using two to four springs with no issues. The double loop straps are great for working out your arms, legs and even your hamstrings.

I love that it comes with a Pilates box, which opens up so many exercise options. From toning and stretching to full-body flexibility, this machine covers it all.

I’ve been using it almost every day since I got it two weeks ago – and seriously, it makes me look forward to working out at home. It’s all I think about every day and I just love how convenient it is – plus I am saving a fortune on Pilates reformer classes.

It’s so easy to find a good professional workout on YouTube. I usually pick a workout depending on my day or mood – sometimes it’s just a 15-minute lying-down stretch class or other times it’s an intense 50-minute full-body session.

The workouts are amazing, and to be honest, it feels just like a regular Pilates reformer class at my studio – except I can press pause at any time if the instructor is talking too fast or I can’t get my legs into the straps quickly enough.

Other features you should know about the reformer machine are that it can hold up to 120kg and weighs 33.6kg.

One thing to keep in mind, however, it’s a pretty bulky product – 197cm in length, 72.5cm in height and 57cm in width – so you’ll need to make sure you have enough space for it. Fortunately, I do have the space for it in my home so it has remained set up every day, and I haven’t needed to fold it up.

For anyone keen to step up their Pilates game without breaking the bank, this reformer from Kmart is a total gamechanger. My small apartment just got a full-body workout upgrade – and I’m totally hooked.
