The First Turkish Orbital Transport Vehicle Begins Its Mission In Space!

The satellite was developed with national capabilities by engineers from the Turkish company “Ferghani”, and the mission it will carry out is considered an important step towards enhancing the capabilities of the “Ferghani” company to maneuver and transport within space.
According to the Anadolu Agency, FGN-TUG-S01 has two important features at once: it will work as the first Turkish orbital transfer vehicle, and it is also equipped with the world’s first hybrid rocket engine to be operated in orbit. Thanks to the safe and low-cost hybrid propulsion system, the Turkish orbital transfer vehicle will be able to transfer satellites to different orbits and extend its operational lifespan.
The vehicle also represents an important turning point for the future orbital cluster missions planned by the “Ferghani” company, as it will host satellites operating at different altitudes.
Regarding the topic, Selcuk Bayraktar, CEO of Ferghani Space Company, said: “The FGN-TUG-S01 spacecraft will enhance Turkey’s capabilities in the field of space. This satellite will provide infrastructure for the Turkish Ulugbek global positioning system project.”
Bayrakdar explained that Ferghani Company aims, during the next five years, to launch than 100 satellites, to provide Türkiye and friendly and brotherly countries with independent positioning capabilities and space logistics services.
He added that the company plans, in the coming years, through the launch systems it is developing, to achieve independent access from Earth to space.
