Thomas Tuchel Leaves TWO England Players Out Of His Squad To Face Serbia

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott will have to wait a while longer for his England debut after missing out on Thomas Tuchel’s matchday squad for Thursday night’s World Cup qualifier against Serbia at Wembley.

Scott and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi will sit out the World Cup qualifier in the stands after not making the squad for the game.

Tuchel can only select 23 for the game under UEFA rules and had picked a 25-player squad for the double header against Serbia and Albania.

Guehi is carrying a foot injury and will be assessed over the weekend. If he does not improve he will be sent back to Palace rather than be asked to make the trip to Albania.

Scott, meanwhile, can expect some action = probably off the bench – on Sunday after being asked to sit this one out just six days after his debut call-up.

Chosen for his country for the first time, Scott has described it as a dream come true.

Thomas Tuchel (centre) is set to hand Scott his debut on Sunday, while Guehi is an injury doubt

‘I’m over the moon,’ Scott said. ‘It is everything I dreamed for back then.

‘Six years ago, I was playing non-league football and I wasn’t even sure if I was going to make it as a football player, so to now be in the England senior team is a dream come true.

‘When I got the call, it was an unbelievable feeling. I couldn’t stop smiling.

‘Everyone’s dream is to be in that World Cup squad. The World Cup is a dream of mine, but I’m just taking it one step at a time.

‘If I get the chance to play, hopefully I can impress and show what I am capable of.’

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers has been nursing a hamstring niggle but has been passed fit to be involved.
